Rules and Regulations
Wristbands must be worn at all times, as this is your admission. Convention classes are closed to the public, all dancers and observers must have a wristband for access.
Independent dancers ARE allowed to participate throughout Convention weekend.
All ages are determined by January 1, 2020 for all Convention and Competition dancers.
Ballroom level changes may be made within the first two classes of the day on Saturday. Please visit the Registration table to make this switch.
Photography and Video are allowed within each Ballroom space, for the Convention ONLY. Please share with us on social media and spread the Fluid Love. Speak to our event staff for any questions on this policy.
Convention fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. NO EXCEPTIONS! This includes sickness, incremental weather, doctors visit, injuries, etc.
No Personal Checks from parents or students, unless it is an Independent Entry. Payments must only be made by the studio owner(s). Studio checks are only accepted through the mail, no checks at event.
All returned checks will be subject to a $35 fee.
Be respectful of hotel/venue guests and other dancers at all times.
Please adhere to all Fluid Dance rules throughout the event weekend; these are in place for your safety.

CATEGORY AND AGE BREAKOUTS
TEACHERS: 18 Years of Age and Up
SENIOR DANCERS: 15-19 Years of Age
TEEN DANCERS: 12-14 Years of Age
JUNIOR DANCERS: 8-11 Years of Age
MINI DANCERS: 5-7 Years of Age
Teachers are allowed to observe, take class and notes in any of the ballrooms.
Teachers are NOT allowed in respective ballroom space during the 'Audition Class'.
This includes the Senior, Teen, Junior, Mini and special Teacher classes.
Senior Students are allowed in only the senior room and can only audition within their appropriate age category.
Teen Students are allowed in only the teen room and can only audition within their appropriate age category.
Junior Students are allowed in only the junior room and can only audition within their appropriate age category.
Mini Students are allowed in only the mini room and can only audition within their appropriate age category. These dancers have a half day of classes on both Saturday & Sunday.
Observers pay a small fee to be a spectator in a ballroom for the weekend. As an observer, you will receive a weekend pass to allow access in your dancers ballroom space. Observer guests must remain quiet with proper etiquette throughout class times, as conversation and outside noise distracts the instructor and dancers.
Please make sure your wristband is visible to Fluid Dance Staff and Room Monitors. Observers are NOT allowed in Teacher Classes, these are reserved only for registered Teachers and Studio Directors.
Observers age of eight (8) and over are required to wear a Wristband.
Observers are NOT allowed in ballroom space during the 'Audition Class'.
One-Day Observer Wristbands are NOT available. No Exceptions.
All dancers under 18 years old are REQUIRED to be under chaperone supervision at all times. Fluid Dance is NOT responsible for supervision of any convention participant.
We keep the ballroom space safe for our dancers and only allow access/viewing for those who have the appropriate wristband and/or lanyard. These regulations are for the safety and respect of our dancers.
Fluid Dance wristbands MUST be worn throughout duration of the convention. If a participant's wristband is lost or stolen, they will no longer be able to participate in the convention unless they wish to repay their registration fees.
Space is limited. "At the door" registration will be available the morning of the Convention, Day 1, ONLY if space is available. Credit Card or Cash are the only acceptable forms of payment for "at the door" registration.
Auditions for the Fluid Dance Elite Scholarship will be held for all age groups within each city stop. Routine is taught to auditioning dancers during 'Audition Class' time. Allow 40 minutes to learn/perfect routine and 20 minutes for the Audition process. All winners will be announced and presented their Scholarship after the Showcase on Sunday afternoon.
**This is a 'CLOSED DOOR' Audition. Observers are not allowed within ballroom space during Audition class time.**
