We take our Regional Convention Classes and amplify everything! The Faculty have even more creative freedom with their class styles and structure, bringing magic to the ballroom. With dancers from all regional city-stops across the country, this is the perfect opportunity to make new friends and soak in all the talent and energy!

THE SUMMER INTENSIVE

Rules and Regulations

  1. Wristbands must be worn at all times, as this is your admission. Summer Intensive classes are closed to the public, all dancers and observers must have a wristband for access.

  2. Independent dancers are allowed to register and participate throughout Summer Intensive weekend.

  3. It is not required to attend a 2024 Regional event in order to attend Nationals. ALL dancers and studios are WELCOME to join us during Nationals 2024!

  4. Ballroom placement is determined by age of dancer at time of event weekend. We will defer to Studio Director on any adjustments based on dancer ability and comfort level.

  5. Ballroom level changes may only take place after the first class of the day on Thursday morning, and most importantly, only if space availability allows for the change.

  6. Photography and Video are allowed within each ballroom space, for the Summer Intensive ONLY. Please share with us on social media and spread the Fluid Love. Speak to our event staff for any questions on this policy.

  7. Summer Intensive fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. NO EXCEPTIONS. This includes sickness, incremental weather, doctors visit, injuries, etc.

  9. No Personal Checks from parents or students. Payments must only be made by the studio, and/or within registration portal. Studio checks are only accepted through the mail, no checks at event.

  10. Be respectful of hotel/venue guests and other dancers at all times.

  11. Please adhere to all Fluid Dance rules throughout the event weekend; these are in place for your safety.

CATEGORY AND AGE BREAKOUTS

MINI DANCERS: Ages 5-7

JUNIOR DANCERS: Ages 8-11

TEEN DANCERS: Ages 12-14

SENIOR DANCERS: Ages 15-19

TEACHERS: Ages 18+

*Please note age division breakout is different for Nationals and Summer Intensive.

TEACHER/STUDIO DIRECTOR

Teachers are allowed to observe, take class and notes in any of the ballrooms.

This includes the Senior, Teen, Junior, Mini and special Teacher classes.

SENIOR STUDENTS

Senior Students are allowed in only the senior room and can only audition within their appropriate age category.

Ages 15-19

TEEN STUDENTS

Teen Students are allowed in only the teen room and can only audition within their appropriate age category.

Ages 12-14

JUNIOR STUDENTS

Junior Students are allowed in only the junior room and can only audition within their appropriate age category.

Ages 8-11

MINI STUDENTS

Mini Students are allowed in only the mini room and can only audition within their appropriate age category. These dancers have half the daily schedule as the Junior, Teen and Senior students.

Ages 5-7

OBSERVERS

Observers pay a small fee to be a spectator in a ballroom for the weekend. As an observer, you will receive a weekend pass to allow access in your dancers ballroom space. Observer guests must remain quiet with proper etiquette throughout class times, as conversation and outside noise distracts the instructor and dancers.

Please make sure your pass is visible to Fluid Dance Staff and Room Monitors. Observers are NOT allowed in Teacher Classes, these are reserved only for registered Teachers and Studio Directors.

Observer individual day passes are NOT available. No Exceptions.

Observer passes will be available onsite, but should be purchased in advance in guarantee availability.

CHAPERONES

All dancers under 18 years old are REQUIRED to be under chaperone supervision at all times. Fluid Dance is NOT responsible for supervision of ANY summer intensive participant.

We keep the ballroom space safe for our dancers and only allow access/viewing for those who have the appropriate wristband and/or lanyard. These regulations are for the safety and respect of our dancers.

WRISTBANDS

Fluid Dance wristbands MUST be worn throughout the duration of the Summer Intensive. If a participant's wristband is lost or stolen, they will no longer be able to participate in the Intensive unless they wish to repay their registration fees.
