PARENT VOLUNTEERS

We are looking for volunteers to help monitor and secure access to dancer ballrooms.

Volunteer Guidelines

Eligibility

Dance parent/relative with dancer participating in convention classes over designated event weekend

College Student with dance convention background

Responsibility

  • Check wristbands and lanyards for access on all dancers, teachers and observers entering the space

  • Must stand outside of ballroom door for first 15 mins of first class of the day. Remainder of classes, monitor from inside ballroom

  • In charge of the ‘Fluid Dance First-Aid Essentials Pack’

  • Make sure dancers and faculty are respected within the space by monitoring:

    • Observers voice levels are low and at a whisper when speaking amongst one another

    • Dancer bags, shoes and accessories are all tucked away beneath chairs or against walls

  • We would love each volunteer to monitor the same ballroom for both Saturday and Sunday of the event weekend, although not required.
