Tracie Stanfield is an award-winning choreographer, educator, creative consultant, and the founder and Artistic Director of SynthesisDANCE in New York City. Her work has been commissioned throughout the US, the UK, Canada, Japan, and South America. Her signature voice as a choreographer has helped create and define contemporary lyrical movement in concert and commercial dance.

Dance Magazine calls her classes "inspiring'” and the Huffington Post UK says Tracie "thrilled and mesmerized with her masterful fusion of contemporary and classical dance forms.” Tracie's work was recently performed at dance festivals in Benicassim, Spain and Ixtapa, Mexico. 

Tracie’s choreography has been presented throughout the US at Symphony Space, Jazz at Lincoln Center, BAM Fisher, Bryant Park, The DukeTheatre, Brooklyn Museum, Hollywood PAC, Rose Nagelberg Theatre, Dixon Place and Untermyer Park in Yonkers. Commissions include Caseology Watches, Verismo Opera Company, Kilgore Rangerettes, Tapestry Dance Company, NYC Choreographers’ Ball, Flux Dance Company and numerous companies in the US, Canada and Mexico.  SynthesisDANCE’s tour through Alaska was funded in part by the NEA and WestAF.  The company’s 2017 MidWest tour was sponsored by their sister company Flux Dance in Sioux City. Beyond her work with the Spirit of Elan Award-winning SynthesisDANCE, Tracie served as the Resident Choreographer for the Booking Dance Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. 

Tracie is also on faculty at Broadway Dance Center. Teaching highlights include Marymount Manhattan College, Peridance Capezio Center, Millennium Philadelphia, Rock West School, The Pulse on Tour,  Motion Dance Conventions, DMA, DEA as well as numerous international residencies. Tracie is regularly featured in Dance Spirit and Dance Teacher Magazines. Recently, Tracie taught the DanceSpirit Cover Model Contest Finalists and was featured in the June issue of Dance Informa Magazine.  Tracie is the Artistic Director of the Brooklyn Dance Festival and serves on the Advisory Board of the Young Choreographers' Festival and various dance organizations that promote the future of dance for all audiences. She is an Educational & Artistic Advisor for SIETEOCHO, a pre-professional training program in Mexico City. Learn more about Tracie at and
